The Elantra that was just discontinued is the best looking car in its class. A coworker of mine has one in a misty blue and I can't help but eye it every time I see her pull in.

I actually agree with this. I like my forte looks wise (compared to the focus and other cars in it's class) but feel that the Elantra (its clone) is slightly nicer

Tha t and the Cruze hatch are just about the only modern compacts I’d want to own.

Agreed. It’s neither boring nor shouty and overwrought; just a very clean and cohesive design with pleasant lines .
I always give a longer look when one goes by.

It's a very cohesive design. All the design elements mesh well.

Small sedans are a design challenge but this one is truly great, IMO. Just like the mid-00s Civic (4-door)

I actually prefer the model that replaced it.

This x1000, it looked way sleeker and then they ruined it with the '90s triangle anime eyes in the current one

You realize he is saying the opposite right?

Que? He said he prefers the model that replaced the one pictured and I'm agreeing with him and saying the model that replaced THAT one (the one that replaced the pictured one) is ugly

And for awhile, it was available as a coupé!

Oh wait, so that is two generations old? Still looks very current.

Yeah. These aren't bad but I much prefer the ones that replaced it

Sorry, all I heard was
I like my forte

The smirking face is way better than the angry/grumpy face on almost every other car, and somehow more expressive than the face of most Mazdas I see (what the heck Mazda, this is supposed to be your wheelhouse).

Not even a Take. It's just Truth. Hyundai makes some damn good looking cars. Reliable, too. And good warranty. And okay to drive in later models. And cheap! They're good cars!

If only the Cruze didn't suck...

I like the 2007-2010 HD chassis. They were so cute!

Nah, two gens ago was the 07-10 model, the current one (2016 on) had a mid cycle refresh I believe

I forgot this! I have only seen one in the wild once. That and the Focus coupe are so pedestrian yet so rare.

Decent car, shit rear mirror visibility. Drove a rental, wasn't hot for it.

VW for life, Hyundais are nice but too restrained to be fun.
![]() 04/20/2019 at 14:26 |

Are you implying VWs aren't restrained? Because they're about the most tepidly styled cars on the market rn

Sorry I disagree, '16-17' Elantra is best.

I was vague, but yes, new ones are. Old ones, however, can get batshit insane with very little modification.
